And then there was one. One reason. One excuse. One stupid reason for the writer’s absence. His lack of creativity? Possibly. His school work? Probable. His laziness? Definitely.
So here we are hm? Finally back to writing. Finally starting to force myself to balance 10 things at once, on a pinky. Ah. This is the life. Based on what I just said, you might think me crazy to be writing and such when I have so much else to do. But I laugh. I laugh at that. I am at my best when under pressure. I write essays minutes before they are do and sha-bam. Perfect scorez left and right.
So. I guess it’s only fitting that I write now, when I’m under all kinds of pressure already. Just… fits y’know?
Let’s see. What to talk about…
Ooh. I’ve got a little comic project going. You can find it here. :B It’s called Easter Eggs. It’s a little gamer comic. (So original aren’t I?) And it’s written by me and drawn by my good friend JAMIE. O:
Karma has been kind of on hold for a while… we just haven’t gotten to writing. I’ve told Kennith (co-author) that I’m ready to write, he says we’ll write, and then we don’t. D: So… I hope to get that started up again soon…
The baseball playoffs have started! O: And of course. My San Diego Padres were still cleaning (or more like dirtying…) the basement at years end. And to make matters worse, the Dodgers won the divison. If you didn’t know. I hate the Dodgers. With a passion. And not only did they win the division… they beat the Cubs in the first round and have a good chance to make it to the Series. Sigh. Why do my sports teams hate me?
Chargers suck. Plain and simple. They have not performed up to the level they should be and if we lose once more, you can write us off. We’re 2-3 and have lost games in the last seconds and losing to teams like… the Dolphins… and Denver. Panthers! Mind you, those teams are much better this year… but still. Disappointed.
School has been terrible. Only good thing is that P.E. has become laughably easy. My P.E. class spends its days in this gym-like area and plays basketball/volleyball all day. No running. No stretching. No push-ups/sit-ups. Just jog a lap and play basketball. Ah. I love passing the P.E. test. Other than that, no fun. Math is getting head-scratchingly hard, my AP class is being gay (though I should be fixing that soon) and I’m just not doing as well as I should overall. English… I think I’m fine with that. Speaking of which…
I wrote an essay on my grandmother’s passing. She was a great inspiration when she was around and it was a great loss to not only my family but to the general population. She was a great woman. Anyways, I wrote the essay (if you’d like to see it, please ask) and was overwhelmed by the reactions through the family. Most had said they were in tears or tears had welled up their eyes and that it was very well done. The only reason the family had read it was because my mother wanted me to send it around. When I did… I could have never expected what I got in return. I love you Grandma.
Le’see here… what’s new in the world of gaming for lil’ ol’ Naet? How about a little game called… LittleBigPlanet?! That’s right. Those of you who know should be “:O” right about now. Those of you who don’t… go outside right now. Okay. Out there? Now. Find the closest blunt object, make sure it doesn’t have any nails or any other foreign protrusions, and now… hit it against your forehead. Nice and shaken up? Good. Come back in. Now. LittleBigPlanet is a game on the PS3. The game is basically a workshop that hands you the tools to make some amazingly creative levels and gadgets. It’s amazingly well-done and the bit that makes this game even better is the ability to share these levels that you have designed with others around the world. There will be a Youtube-like community for these levels and gadgets. The amount of amazing levels and gadgets around this community is already overwhelming and will be amazing once the game is happening. “But Nate! How in the world could a community be already overwheliming if it isn’t out yet?!” I’m glad you asked. MediaMolecule (the creators) opened up a private beta and… well… I happen to have the beta. And LittleBigPlanet looks to be a truly revolutionary game. It places unlimited opportunity into your hands and let’s you run with it. If you haven’t heard of it, look it up or come by my place. I’ll be more than happy to introduce you to this world.
You play as a species of Sack People. Sackboys and sackgirls, they are made of burlap sacks with a little zipper in the front. They protray a wide array of emotions and love to jump. They have an affinity with swinging and spending time with other sack people. They love to have fun and traverse through various levels, collecting score bubbles and racing to the end. They are… the only inhabitants of LittleBigPlanet and I’d have it no other way.
One last thing about LBP (yes… LittleBigPlanet). It might seem hard to make levels and such but once you get into it, it isn’t that bad at all. Just a bit of effort, the right amount of creativity and a tiny bit of patience and you should have a decently fun level on your hands. It’s amazing how they made it so easy and fun to do it all.
Hm. What else shall I write about kiddies?
I haven’t written much fiction in a while. I feel so lame. But it’s not like my mind hasn’t been at work with new ideas and such. It has. Too much. But it has. For example, the intro to today’s post? I wrote it on my graphing calculator during my math class. Hehe. So just be on the look out. I’ll probably be posting new work in here. I just hope I haven’t lost my talent.
Y’know the worst part of starting this project again is? No recognition. I’m tellin’ you. I should be on CNN and Early Show’s around the world. Pshaw. I don’t see anyone else writing 1500 words a day. Ha-rumph. Sure, there are probably people writing gallons more than I do a day, but exactly 1500? I doubt it. See. I have a goal. I have something to look for. They all just overachieve. Psh. It’s all about achieving what you set out to achieve… or something.
I kid you. Don’t start out with your pitchforks and shovels. I kid.
And now comes the awkward part at the end of posts where I sit and ramble on, stumbling about topics and such.
It’s so odd. To call this Day 1 when I have over 60 other posts of 1500 words just sitting around over in my last attempt. And to be writing so much differently from my last Day 1. Ah. The good old days. Such a naive Nate was the Nate of Day 1, Attempt 1.
SO LIKE. I WAS A SCHOOL RIGHT? WHEN LIEK MY FRIEND OSCAR COMES UP AND IS LIEK. “WELL HAY NAET. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO 1500 WORDS A DAY?” AND I WAS LIEK. “YOUNG MAN 1500 WORMS A DU-” AND THEN RACHEL POPPED OUT OF THE GROUND AND EAT OSCAR WITH HER TOENAIL. SHE THEN THREATENED TO SEND ME INTO THE ABYSS OF HER TERRIBLE TOENAIL. BUT I STOPPED HER WITH MY HAIR AND ESCAPED. THEN I WAS LIEK. OH YEH. I NEED TO WRITE. And here I am.
NOWNOWNOW. One new feature that should be frequent on the blogz. Drumroll please. *DRUMROLL*
Youtube Feature by Naet!
So basically I’ll do my own version of features on Youtube but it’ll be things I like. And it should feature a little review of the Youtuber and what you should watch of them.
Today’s Debut Feature? Pomplamoose.
A two artist band who handle the entire song by cutting and pasting the sounds together. Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn are the two artists who had esatablished themselves on Youtube before they joined together to create tha amazing beauty that is Pomplamoose. Their music is… really well done for an indie group and I have to say Nataly’s voice is great, Jack’s enthusiastic performances are always fun to watch and their videos are edited well. Check them out if you are a fan of music.
Those are my two recommendations… but I love them all. Check all of their stuff out!
And now we reach that fateful part of the evening where I bid you all adieu. Have a good night my precious little orange peels.
Oh. And by the way.
I’m back. (If that wasn’t already glaringly obvious.)
