Hay guys! : D I’m Naet. And I am in need of a banana. To place into my ear! :O Afraid? You should be. :B
Anyways. Today was meh. Just another lousy Monday. Heard bad stuff, got used to boring school and thought about stuff. Another bad Naet day. D; Some lulz were to be had with Oscah though. :B Houk as well. :B They made the day coo’. Took my mind off of the bad things that had happened. Sigh. Looks like the good weekend is over. Time to stress over school again. Sighsigh. School is really uncool around this time. Though! I have two new projects! And one includes me writing a story! : D Yay. Naet gets to be all literate and awesome. Hehe.
Hm… tomorrow might be the day of the big reviews release. :O Crisis Core and GTA IV. Possibly. I might just write them without a release. :O
I wish I had more stuff to talk about these days. I haven’t gotten anything new in a while. D: Ooh! I joined a Flight of the Conchords forum and the peoples there are really epic and welcoming. But they all are lame… cause they got to see FotC live… D: BUT. I get to see Jonathan Coulton yo. Oh yeah. JoCo. Tha’s right. 8D
None of you know…? … CHECK HIM OUT NOW!
You have to listen to the pure awesome that is Jonathan Coulton. If you don’t… well. Then you are lame. : D
I have been having morbid thoughts lately. Thinking about my funeral and stuff. Don’t ask why. I don’t even know. Anyways, I keep thinking about who will be there… how many people will be there… what they will say… what it’ll be like… it almost makes me want to have a pre-funeral funeral. Just to see what it’d be like. Hehe. It’s odd and frankly, I scare myself by thinking like that.
Naet’s Favorite Games
10. Rock Band
Rock Band is truly an amazing party game. You and three other friends take on the role of bandmates and play through various songs. With separate peripherals for each instrument, you get a different experience for each section. Familiarity sets in with the guitar (guitar hero) and microphone (singstar) peripherals but you are thrown into unfamiliar territory when you are faced with the drumset. Each instrument is incredibly fun to play with and you will have a memorable experience no matter what you play with and who you play with. With a great library of music, this game is incredibly fun and great for parties. I love it and I have spent many parties singing along with the family as I bang away at my plastic drumset.
9. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
Odd story with this game. It started out at the number three spot and was pushed down to this spot by many other games. Anyways, this game was truly a cinematic experience and supports my theory that games are art. This game had wonderful writing, great voice acting and scenes of cinematic beauty. The game is very fun and the story is intriguing. You play as Nathan Drake, a fortune hunter that is after the hidden treasure of Sir Francis Drake. As the story goes on, you encounter pirates, myths and other bizarre things. Definitely a powerful game on a powerful system. Beautiful textures and all around awesome.
8. Super Smash Bros Brawl
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is suprisingly this low on my list. Seeing the other games though… I am not surprised. Brawl is the third in a series of fighting games that include all of the Nintendo characters. You put them in familiar stages and tell them to fight. And they do. I have only played this game on rare occasions and when I have, I have loved it. It is really fun and awesome. The amount of characters and odd match-ups you can go through is immense. The amount of things you can do and play with in this game is incredible. While most people think of this as a party game, you have much to do in the singleplayer section. People will be playing this for years to come. With friends and alone. I know that to be true.
7. Half Life 2
Half Life 2 is the sequel to the great game that was Half Life 1. It improved on the first game in every way. Beautiful graphics using a new engine that would be present for years to come, wonderful storytelling that was present in the first game as well, and just an all-around amazing game to play. It is one of the only true FPS’s around in this day and age. Which is sad. There are no cutscenes and no breaks in your play. You just keep on going in this large immersive world. By the end of the game, you are left wanting more. Much more. If you need a FPS to play and you haven’t played this game (WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?!) go play it. Now.
6. Metal Gear Solid Series
The Metal Gear Solid series is one of the better series ever released. It follows the story of a sneaking soldier in a secret organization set to stop terrorism and a bipedal nuclear device known as Metal Gear. Solid Snake is the main character of the game and he is the epitome of awesome. The story in this game is truly movie-esque and amazing… I just can’t sum it all up in words. Metal Gear Solid as a series is the best stealth-action game series that I can think of. It is just… amazing. With Metal Gear Solid 4 coming out, marking the end of the series… I am sad. D:
5. Grand Theft Auto 4
Grand Theft Auto 4 is the definition of a next-gen game. Following the story of Niko Bellic, you find yourself in Liberty City, trying to find men who did Niko wrong in the past all while developing relationships with city people and moving up in the crime ranks of the town. With Rockstar’s cooky sense of humor and the amount of scandal in the game, it provides for many moments where you find yourself asking. “Did they actually pull that off?!” The game is full of incredible detail and amazing beauty. Added with the fact that the game is incredibly fun and open, you will be playing this game for years to come as well.
4. Super Mario RPG
What an odd mix. Square Soft’s great RPG’s and… Mario. Lame people would write it off as terrible immediately, but if you play it, you’d see how wonderful the game is. Of course, following the story of Mario you are thrown into a world of new characters and new lands in the Mario universe. With a cooky sense of humor and gallons of fan service, this already fun RPG and odd idea will have you smiling all the way through. This is a must have game of Square fans, Nintendo fans and SNES fans. If you own a Super Nintendo then you need this game. NEED.
3. Portal
From the makers of Half Life 2 comes one of the greatest First Person games ever. And it happens to be a puzzle game. The game of Portal puts you in the shoes of a anonymous test subject in Aperture Laboratories. You are accompanied by a voice guiding you through various tests. These tests are all based around your handy-dandy Handheld Portal Device. It is basically a Portal Gun. Meaning you shoot one entry portal and an exit portal afterwards. It is incredibly fun and the writing is hilariously awesome. The portal system is something of pure awesome and it is so well done. Billions of years were spent creating and programming this system and the work put into it is truly shown. It’s just amazing.
2. Chrono Trigger
Chrono Trigger is one of the best games on the SNES. Another RPG made by Squaresoft on the Super Nintendo. It is truly a beautiful game. For the time, it was a wonderfully animated and looking game. And it still is beautiful. Chrono Trigger puts you in the shoes of Crono, a youth that finds himself thrown into a role of savior after being thrown into a time machine and being sent back in time and forward. A strong story, great battle system and just all around wonderful game is to be played here. It was way ahead of it’s time and I would reccomend it to anyone who simply likes games.
1. Final Fantasy 8
Final Fantasy 8… mah god… the memories I’ve had with this game. Final Fantasy 8 was the first game of the Final Fantasy series to feature fully rendered 3D models both in battle system and out. It was beautiful for it’s time and the CG scenes were pretty nice. Final Fantasy 8 featured an amazing soundtrack orchaestrated by Uematsu. (I love this soundtrack to death. :B) The battle system was odd and different but still wonderful. The story was another romance but it was more than that with epic battle scenes between “Gardens” which are really school training children to use their abilities and become a mercenary force of sorts. This game is a personal favorite and it will never move from this spot. Final Fantasy 8 just holds a special place in my heart. :B
OKAI. THA’S MAH LIST. LUL. SLEEP WELL. I KNOW I DID.
